Trick or Treat?

I hope you all had a great Halloween! In the UK Halloween tends to be quite a low key affair, mainly being regarded as a time for children to go knocking door to door for treats or money. That being said, this year, not a single kid knocked on our door last night, leaving me to eat all of the sweets we had waiting.

According to Wikipedia, in Britain and Ireland the tradition of going house to house collecting food at Halloween goes back at least as far as the 16th century, as had the tradition of people wearing costumes at Halloween.

I think it’s great that this tradition has been maintained for so many hundreds of years, I only hope that next year more parents and children take part!
